Buckeye, Ft McNair
Scientific Name: Aesculus x carnea 'Ft McNair'
Technically a HorseChestnut, this tree is a beautiful bloomer. Similar to 'Briotii' this tree has large trusses of Pink bloom with a yellowish throat. Overall, our impression is that this is a better grower than Briotii and it is supposedly more resistant to Leaf Blotch which causes early leaf drop on the Ohio Buckeye.Growing to about 35' this medium sized tree is a great choice for many yards, providing both bloom and shade with a nice rounded shape.
