Before and After project 3

This is a typical home with a severly sloping front yard that exposes the basement at the front corner. This height that is exposed at the corner makes it important to develop a plan that softens that transition.

The small retaining wall by front entry allows for a more comfortable entry planting. The ornamental tree just below the wall creates a break point for the lower area that features ornamental grasses along the base of the house. The homeowners wished for a perennial based landscape, so plant selections were chosen that would allow for a transition of bloom throughout the season. A few selected woody shrubs and evergreens provide a base for the plantings, especially during the dormant season.
